The Thing Cigar Stand. It’s Clobberin’ Time!
It’s summer 2025 now, and I decided to carve a wooden, The Thing cigar stand. Especially since it’s going to premiere in cinemas soon. However, my version is more classic and is based on early comic strips. It’s more brutal and tough, and the creature smokes a cigar. You’ll hardly see anything like that in modern films. And Ben loved to smoke a strong cigar. I love his image and character, which I tried to capture in wood carving.
Materials and Tools for The Thing Cigar Stand
For The Thing cigar stand. I used pear wood. A great choice because after carving the wood, I stain the wooden Ben. To get such a detailed stone texture, I used a drill with many different cutters and diamond burs. The cigar was carved from briar wood. The Thing smokes a cigar! Well, where else will you see something like this? They certainly won’t show it in a movie 🙂 After carving the wood and staining, I covered the Creature with oil and did a good polish.

Usually, I do all my work to order, so in any case, write to me to find out about availability. This also applies to Ben cigr stand from the Fantastic Four. By the way, The Thing cigar stand may not smoke a cigar, just tell me and I will make a different design. It can also be any other characters. I am open to commission work. But keep in mind that I often have other orders in stock.
