Raven Smoking Pipe: A Symbol of Mystery

I decided to add some art to my works, and the raven smoking pipe is just one of such works. The curves of the feathers and head, in combination with the stem, make this pipe stand out from the rest. It’s like a return to the classical eras of the 18th-19th centuries. The composition is carved in the style of Edgar Allan Poe and his work «The Raven.» I was inspired by the atmosphere of that era and the mystical image of Allan. I also left a memorable inscription on the back of the pipe. The raven smoking pipe is made in different versions, light and dark, and also comes with a tamper skull carved from black hornbeam. I also want to say that I attached a couple of photos of my previous version of the pipe. Just a couple, because as usual, I am not happy with my previous works.

The Art of Carving a Raven Tobacco Pipe

Creating intricate wood carvings is a time-intensive art. For the raven pipe, I employ a range of tools, both powered and manual, such as a milling machine with specialized cutters, along with files and chisels. The pipe itself is carefully hand-carved from briar wood. This wood is chosen not only for its ability to withstand heat but also for its capacity to hold delicate carvings, allowing for the detailed representation of the crow’s form and plumage. Every detail is meticulously shaped, using only the highest quality Italian briar wood.
In this work, I used more hand tools, chisels, and dowels, and for the dark version, I also used a special wood stain.

Custom Raven Pipes and Commission Work

The raven smoking pipe shown in the picture was custom-made and is currently out of stock. However, I can create a similar wooden raven pipe tailored to your specific preferences. This could be a recreation of my past work or a unique custom order. I am also always open to commissions for crow-themed pipes.

• Discussing the project with the buyer to understand their requirements.
• The client pays a prepayment via PayPal to start.
• The pipe sketch is drawn taking into account the buyer’s wishes.
• A test clay sculpture is sculpted if deemed necessary.

• The finished photos are sent to the customer, and the remaining payment is received.
• The pipe is shipped internationally by DHL.
